Casting Handle

We struggled with definition of the distal end of the liner , the fit between the lock and liner, and the lock location during casting. To speed up the casting process, and to help ensure proper lock alignment we use the casting handle. The lock anchors are placed into the handle prior to filling the cast, and this speeds up fabrication and eliminates the risk of the lock being fabricated in the wrong location.

Silicone Molded Distal Cushions

We have found that the shape of most larger diameter locks do not fit with the distal ends of liners as well as they should . To create an intimate fit between lock and liner we created silicone cushions with multiple sizes and shapes. These also help ensure that the pin is seating completely with ZERO play, and offer extra cushion on the distal end. A cushion is glued to the end of the liner using a sili- cone adhesive. (silicone adhesive not included) Silicone Distal Cushions are not recommended for use with the Air-Lock and Small Air-Lock. Call coyote for more information on adhesive options.

Memory Foam Distal Cushions Instead of different shapes to create an intimate fit, you can use the memory foam version to fill the gap between the liner and the lock. These cushions help ensure proper seating, and keeps the lock from being in between clicks. A cush- ion is glued to the end of the liner using a unique adhesive, some liners need to be rough on the distal end for adhesive. If using Air-lock, a distal cushion is rarely needed, but when needed, the memory foam cushions are the best choice.

Casting and Fab Dots Easily mark problem areas during the casting process using these adhesive foam dots. In place of pen or pencil marks these dots are placed on the liner over the top of problem areas, or areas in need of extra relief. The adhesive back will keep them in place during casting. Once the cast is filled, the 1/8″ thick dots are clearly visible on the mold. These are also used in our lock fabrication.

Volume Management Pads Some areas of a limb can tolerate more pressure or tighter suspension than others. Rather than global reductions, make volume adjustments to your sockets right where you want them with our six different socket pads. Sold precut in a complete set at full thickness (3/16″) for limitless customization. Surface of pads helps increase suspension in the socket without interfering with donning and doffing.
